My Mom was born in October and always seemed to decorate at least one room in our home with autumn colors of orange and brown – her favorite colors. I like using Polyvore to showcase how nice one of my home decor items will look in your house.
Over two months ago, I had a partial thyroid lobectomy of the right side. I’ve been on a slow uphill battle to regain my creativity, actually, just sitting up for an hour is a huge victory which I’m claiming. 🙂
My Endocrinologist informed me of her vision, along with her team of colleagues of how to proceed with my issue which I’m processing. In the meantime, Polyvore has been a healing tool. I’m having fun using a different format to display my fashions, accessories and home decor designs. Placing items in a collage hopefully helps to provide possible scenarios for either a dorm room or space in your home.
The toothbrush/soap dispenser set recently sold – thank you!
Pretty pink font with a heart, all occasion, year round gift ideas for Brittany. Consider creating personalized gifts for that special someone in your life. I did a shower curtain for my Dad’s bathroom in his room located in an assisted living facility as he things tended to become “lost” 🙂
Smiling, surgery, stitches, taking lots of prescribed pain medicines that I log in my daily journal, napping due to the meds, updating existing artwork, trying to write coherently about said art or just simply sitting up long enough to try and swallow soft basic foods :-).
This has been my life for several months so any bit of happiness like the note from Society6 is like gold and is also the reason why I’m just getting around to posting! I jazzed it up a bit by using a Polyvore collage template.
Contrary to what I believed, life after major throat surgery is not the staycation I had envisioned and hoped for it also, the longer recovery period, as it turns out not what my surgeon expected either. lol
During my post surgical recovery from having my right thyroid removed, I’ve had lots of smiles entering my email In Box including like selling my first jigsaw puzzle featuring my photo of Horse Shoe Bay Beach in Bermuda. This photo was taken during a seven day family /friend cruise from Boston to Bermuda. No planes lol, just a quick cab ride to Black Falcon Terminal. Currently, my goal is to be able to sit up more than an hour, pain-free. 🙂

Colorful striped women’s cruise fashion wear, reflecting the beautiful beaches of Sint Maarten – St. Martin. Gorgeous blue skies, aqua blue ocean, vibrant green trees and pristine sandy beaches. I’ve been recovering these past 2 months from surgery and am hoping to be able to cruise by this summer.
September 15, 2016 my endocrinologist told me good news, we were able to remove a 5cm partial thyroid mass without impacting the vocal cords or esophagus. “Bad news, we were very surprised to find it was cancerous which means the remaining thyroid will need to be removed at some point.”
It’s taken 60 days to absorb, amidst post surgery pain, and process, that I have cancer. Wow. My family will tell you, I’m very much a creative realist. A left brain and right brain thinker. I love creating with my feet firmly on the ground. It’s made for an interesting life.
So while I deal with my currently new “normal”, I’m digging down deep, past the pain and medicines, to do a bit of happy work, even if it now takes all day rather than an hour or two. My “new normal” consists of learning how to live with a high level of neck pain while trying to rework hundreds of my existing art and showcasing them using a Polyvore collage as shown below! I’m grateful to have found an outlet that allows me to focus on something other than if I’m at a level 10 or a level 3. Art is My Life.
